Church of Santa Lucia alle Malve

The Church of Santa Lucia alle Malve is one of the most beautiful and impressive cave churches in Matera. Located in the Sasso Caveoso, it consists of three naves preserving splendid 12-century frescoes. Named after Santa Lucia between 1217 and 1267, it is adjacent to a Benedictine convent that was inhabited by nuns until 1798. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the entire village.
