Grotto Pizzeria Castello

This pizzeria, run by Rumolo family, is one of the gastronomic excellences of the small village of Caggiano. Here you can taste the original and very light ‘black’ pizza, made with vegetable charcoal and enriched with guanciale, scamorza cheese, truffles and potatoes cooked under the ashes. Also worth trying is the pizza with seasoned pecorino cheese and white fig jam, as well as the pizza with soppressata and mozzarella! To while away the time, try the bruschette and the pasticcio caggianese, a local speciality made with prosciutto, fresh and mature cheeses, and minced veal.
