Villa Ravino Gardens

Villa Ravino Gardens are a must-see destination for nature lovers, a tropical and Mediterranean park, born out of navy captain Giuseppe D’Ambra’s passion for plants and biodiversity. The Ravino Gardens are home to 5000 specimens of 400 different species: cycads, palms, musaceae, gigantic centenary cacti. In the park, footpaths wind through original flowerbeds, bordered by the characteristic ‘parracine’ – dry stone walls made of typical green tuff stone, also used to create original flower boxes in the gardens. This is an ancient technique, protected by Unesco as intangible world heritage since 2018.

Awards
In 2010, Ravino Gardens were awarded the OPE prize, by the European Parliamentary Observatory and Council of Europe, for their commitment to tourism and the enhancement of the area.
