Sant’Angelo is an ancient fishing village in the municipality of Serrara Fontana. The centre of village life is the famous Piazzetta, with its small bars and boutiques. An isthmus leads to the marina and the small tuff island where a tower once stood. From there, looking towards the Piazzetta, you will discover a Mediterranean picture of blue and white houses climbing up the slope to the Church of San Michele Arcangelo. Follow the narrow streets, discover the little restaurants and enjoy the view from the top of the hill.
Right at the entrance to Sant’Angelo you will find Cava Grado Beach, nestled in a small rocky cove. Rich in springs, thermal park lovers can choose between the Aphrodite Apollon Thermal Park, the Tropical Thermal Park and the Romantica Thermal Park. But in Sant’Angelo, the sea is also full of surprises: discover the ‘Fumarole’ of Cava Petrelle and have fun cooking eggs in the boiling sand. Walk along Maronti Beach until you meet the streams of water of the Olmitello Spring.
>There you will find the Ancient Roman Baths of Cavascura, with saunas and natural baths carved into the tuffaceous rock. Sant’Angelo can be reached by land and also by taxi-boat from Maronti or Sorgeto.
