The Pantalica Reserve is located on a plateau in the province of Syracuse, located exactly between the two rivers Anapo and Calcinara. Pantalica represents the largest necropolis in Europe and was included in the UNESCO World Heritag List. The reserve hosts many caves among the remains of an ancient city, Giarranauti, dating back to the Bronze Age.
