Alberobello, capital of trulli
Alberobello, in Valle d’Itria, is the famous Bari municipality of the trulli, a Unesco Heritage Site since 1996. Its mule tracks are hidden by the rich and fragrant vegetation. The most imposing trullo in Alberobello is the Sovereign Trullo – now a museum – was built in the mid-19th century. In summer, this trullo hosts a series of different cultural performances. In addition to the museum of the Trullo Sovrano, there is also Casa Pezzolla Territory Museum, where you can retrace the history of the place and its very special buildings. One of the trulli has become a church: the Church of Sant’Antonio, at the end of Rione Monti.
