Shopping in Naples

Shopping in the city

If you are in a shopping mood, Naples is the city for you! One of the main stops is certainly Via Toledo, which connects Piazza Dante to Piazza Trieste e Trento, with its chains, such as Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Disney Store, Pandora, and its luxury shops, from Dieci Dieci to the glittering Swarovski. As you walk down this street, you will notice the beautiful Galleria Umberto I, a shopping arcade built in the late 19th century and home to major brands such as Barbaro, and centres such as Sephora.

From here you can easily reach Via Chiaia, an elegant district full of high-fashion shop windows. Along Via dei Mille, Via Calabritto, Via Carlo Poerio and Via Filangieri, you will come across several big brands such as BurberryLuis Vitton, Gucci, Cartier, Emporio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Bulgari. But Chiaia is equally famous for its Neapolitan craft shops. Here, in 1914, Eugenio Marinella, the tie king, who was also loved and appreciated internationally, opened his business. Also not to be missed is Tramontano, a treasure trove of fine leather bags made exclusively by hand. On Corso Umberto, also known as ‘Rettifilo’, just a stone’s throw from the imposing Maschio Angioino and the central Piazza Municipio, you can find shops for all budgets, especially for footwear.

Vomero is one of the most glamorous areas in Naples, a delightful hillside district renowned for Via Alessandro Scarlatti and Via Luca Giordano, both hubs of big brands. Via Luca Giordano has recently been closed to traffic and is therefore perfect for a relaxing stroll. Naples is also the city of popular markets: heading back towards the historic centre, you will find Pignasecca, which runs from Montesanto to Piazza Carità, a place full of folklore and tradition which stretches from Montesanto to Piazza Carità. Pignasecca is a must-see for anyone who really wants to get to know this extraordinary area. A real open-air market where you can buy home accessories, clothing, and above all delicious Neapolitan food and wine. Impossible not to mention the Market of Posillipo, where you can find designer clothes and quality fabrics. It is open only on Thursday mornings from 07:00 to 13:00

From Via dei Tribunali to San Gregorio Armeno there is a riot of Neapolitan flair and artistic genius. Punchinello masks, good-luck horns and beautiful shepherds: a thousand colours enrich and decorate the alleys of the city’s beating heart. If you are looking for a souvenir of ancient Partenope, you are in the right place!
