Every year, thousands of tourists, fascinated by an unspoilt and lush nature, walk along the paths of the reserves on the Coast.
Stretching between Scala, Agerola and Amalfi, the Natural Reserve Valle delle Ferriere, in the Monti Lattari Park, was established in 1972 with the aim of protecting its fauna and flora. Here you will find fragrant lemon groves, dense fern forests, springs and waterfalls, and the remains of old paper mills. From the centre of Amalfi, you can reach Valle dei Mulini, famous, as its name suggests, for its main mills, that used the Vernotico river currents for the production of flour and pasta.
The Fjord of Furore, pride of the entire Amalfi Coast, is the symbol of this small municipality. Formed by a cleft in the rock, it is crossed by the Schiato torrent and, in July, it becomes the venue for an exciting international diving competition.
