Art and Culture on the Amalfi Coast

Attractions on the Amalfi Coast

The ‘Divine Coast‘ is one of the most picturesque coastal stretches in the whole of Italy. Amalfi is one of the most popular places. The Duomo, dating back to the 9th century, is characterised by architectural styles ranging from Romanesque to Baroque. Here you can see the Crypt of Sant’Andrea, the site where the remains of Christ’s first disciple are kept, and the Paradise Cloister, consisting of beautiful cross vaults. The town is also famous for the Museo della Carta (Paper Museum), where you will have the opportunity to witness the creation of paper sheets, a craftwork of great value!

In Positano, the ‘vertical village’, you will notice the colourful dome of the Church of Santa Maria dell’Assunta. This place of worship, dating back to the 13th century, consists of three naves and houses the 13th-century statue of the Black Madonna and Child. In Ravello, there are two spectacular historical buildings from which you can enjoy breathtaking views: Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.
