Those who choose Ischia as a destination for their travel experience should know that the green island offers a series of events, especially during the summer, that embrace the world of culture and art, food and wine, folklore and its green soul.
Opening the tourist season is the Andar per sentieri event: in May, for a week, a series of authorised and expert guides will accompany those who wish to discover all the secrets of this marvellous area along Ischia’s most beautiful routes, penetrating delightful bays, pine forests, thermal springs and ancient stone houses, leaving time also for tastings of typical products. At the end of May, in the Negombo thermal park in Lacco Ameno, a weekend Ipomea del Negombo, a market exhibition of rare and unusual plants from the warm temperate zone, is organised. June and July are the months of cinema: first the Ischia Film Festival, directed by Michelangelo Messina, which takes place for a week in the splendid setting of the Aragonese Castle and aims to enhance the locations with screenings of feature films short films and documentaries, and then the Ischia Global Fest, organised by Pascal Vicedomini, which brings a breath of glamour to Ischia with internationally renowned actors and free screenings in the island’s two cinemas and in the main square of the town of Lacco Ameno.
