When at the end of summer, the island regains its tranquillity and peaceful nature, Sant’Angelo celebrates its patron saint in a light and atmosphere show. For the feast of Saint Michael Archangel, the village of sea and colours that enriches the southern side of the island of Ischia glows in the light of fireworks, candles drawing light trails over the sea and the faithful’s devotion.
On 29 September, Maronti Bay is filled with emotion. In the morning, the band marches through the narrow streets of the village with melodies echoing in honour of the saint. It is a prelude to the sea procession that will take the saint’s statue to Punta Chiarito and Maronti, greeted by the faithful’s devotion with exciting fireworks.
