Bukkuram Farmhouse in Pantelleria was established in 1984 on the plateau in the south-western part of the island, thanks to Marco De Bartoli’s passion and dedication. The winery, five hectares of land 200 metres above sea level, is located in an 18th-century dammuso.
Bukkuram derives from the Arabic “father of the vine”. This area of Pantelleria is preferred by Arabs for the cultivation of Zibibbo grapes.
The passito wine is named Bukkuram, as a tribute to the enchanting land where it is produced.
Guided tours, organised upon reservation, last about one hour and a half.
