Villa Rufolo

Villa Rufolo, which dates back to the 13th century, overlooks the Duomo of Ravello. It is the city’s most precious jewel. During the 19th century, its original architecture, a remarkable blend of Arab, Sicilian and Norman art, underwent major changes. Richard Wagner found inspiration here for the Klingsor garden of his Parsifal. The Wagnerian concerts that are held every year in the villa’s lower garden during the world-famous Ravello Festival are dedicated to Wagner.
