The Convicinio of Sant’Antonio is a complex of four churches dating between the 12th and 13th century in Rione Casalnuovo, in the Sasso Caveoso area. A beautiful ogival arch portal leads to the typically rupestrian places dedicated to San’Eligio, San Donato, San Primo and Sant’Antonio Abate. All these worship centres have adapted to the urban and commercial system, as evidenced by the presence of cellars and several millstones. This transition to new uses occurred between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century.
