The Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte covers 5,000 hectares. It is a highly biodiverse ecosystem: there are around 60 different plant communities, 26 land and lagoon habitats, and several species of fauna, many of which find refuge in the Calich Lagoon. The area’s archaeological heritage is also noteworthy, with the Nuraghe and Roman Villa of Sant’Imbenia and the Nuraghe of Palmavera. The Capo Caccia – Isola Piana Protected Marine Area with its cliffs and many underwater caves is also located in the park.
