Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation due to non-certifiable contingencies (consequently not covered by the Europ Assistance policy), the costs of penalties will be charged according to the services of the tourist package or sold individually.

In the specific case of tourist packages, the cancellation costs charged by suppliers may amount to the full value of the booked service (flight, train, ship, hydrofoil, bus, transfer service).

In all cases in which it is not otherwise indicated (e.g. travel proposals with the cancellation option without penalty up to a few days prior to departure, more restrictive conditions of certain accommodation establishments and/or shipping companies, “prepaid non-refundable” offers for which cancellation always entails a 100% fee) the traveller cancelling the contract before the departure date will be charged certain costs. Regardless of the deposit payment referred to in Art. 8) of general conditions for the sale of a tourist package – in addition to the full amount of the booking fee (never refundable), the traveller will be charged with the penalty in the following amounts, according to the services of the package or sold individually:

A) Residence or hotel accommodation with possible additional transfer service:

  • 10% of the fee from 30 to 15 days before the departure date;
  • 30% of the fee from 14 to 8 days before the departure date;
  • 50% of the fee from 7 to 3 days before the departure date;
  • 100% of the fee from 2 days to the day of departure.

B) Scheduled flights at IT fares – WEB Ticket Office – Trains:

  • 100% cancellation fee at booking confirmation. For trains, only change of booking postponement is possible, availability permitting.

C) Charter flights:

  • 100% from 20 to the day of departure.

D) Ships – Hydrofoils – GT Buses:

  • 50% from 10 to 3 days before departure;

  • For air fares, flight cancellations entitle you to reimbursement of airport taxes (excluding special/charter flights). Additional charges (YQ-YR) are never refundable.

N.B. The calculation of days does not include the day of cancellation – notification of which must be received on a working day – and the first day of travel.

Imperatore Travel World, in collaboration with Europ Assistance, has arranged for all travellers a comprehensive insurance policy which is operational from the moment of booking until the end of the trip and is designed to insure:

  • before departure with travel cancellation policy;
  • during the stay with personal assistance policy, reimbursement of medical expenses, damage and loss of luggage, holiday reimbursement and many other guarantees to protect the traveller.

If the insured person must cancel or change the booked trip due to documented, unforeseeable causes or events not known at the time of travel confirmation that affect:

  • the insured person and/or his family members;
  • the co-owner of the company/associated firm;

Europ Assistance shall reimburse the penalty, applied under contract by the Tour Operator:

  • to the Insured person and, provided that they are insured and registered on the same file:
  • to cohabiting family members;
  • to one of the travelling companions.

In the event that several insured people are registered for the trip together and at the same time, in the absence of other people from the same household cohabiting with the insured person, the insured person shall indicate only one person as the “travelling companion”.
