Ginostra is a small hill village with some 30 inhabitants, isolated from the rest of Stromboli and reachable only by sea. Its port, Pertuso (hole), was the smallest port in the world until 2004, when it was enlarged for safety reasons. This expansion did not affect the beauty of the landscape.
The village square is reached via a mule track – mules are the only means of transport in the place. Once in the square, two small streets lead to the church and to Lazzaro Beach, respectively. In the Pertuso area, you will find two beautiful natural pools with crystal-clear waters. Ginostra is a paradise for divers as well as for whale-watching enthusiasts.
