Bay of Ieranto

The Bay of Ieranto is part of the Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella. The path to the Bay begins at Nerano, in Massa Lubrense. The trailhead is a few dozen metres downhill from the piazzetta .

For about a kilometre, the path is surrounded by olive trees, which then give way to wild Mediterranean scrub. You will soon be surprised by the view that opens up before your eyes: Capri, Punta Campanella, the Li Galli Islands and the Amalfi coast. At some point you will come to a fork in the road. You can choose between climbing up to Mont’Alto and Punta Penna or descending to the pebbly Spiaggia di Ieranto. I can assure you the choice won’t be easy. If you set off in time, you can go up first and then go down to cool off in that corner of paradise.
Spiaggia di Ieranto can also be reached by boat from Spiaggia di Nerano. To do so, you need to contact Cooperativa Sant’Andrea, the only one allowed to enter the protected marine area.
And if you want to know interesting facts about the Bay of Ieranto, on your return from the excursion, pop into Bar Glocal for a chat with the owner over a good ice cream or a cool drink.
